My Dearest Daughter,
This morning you told me you wanted to know the truth about Santa; you were certain it was daddy and me who did all the shopping, wrapping, and stocking stuffing.
Well, my love, I guess the day has come for you to know the true secret of Santa.
You are right. Santa is not just one big jolly fat guy in a red suit, who is able to fit down chimneys and bring presents to all the children in the world in one night. But this doesn’t mean he isn’t real. He is as real, and as big as my love for you, your sister and daddy.
Santa is real--real hope, real faith, real love, real magic and real believing.
These are all things Daddy and I wanted to give you. Along with all the gifts, treats, and overflowing stockings, we wanted you to know that, in this life you will need to have hope even when you have doubts, have faith in things you can’t measure, love things you can’t touch, trust the magic in every day, and believe, always believe there is something good to come.
I was lucky that my parents made sure I believed, because while Daddy and I were waiting for you to find us, we needed to believe in all these things, and when we were finally a family, we couldn’t wait to share all the joy of Christmas with you.
So now you know the true secret of Santa, you know that the magic is in all our hearts, passed down from parent to child for thousands of years. Now you can help pass on that magic and joy, the way you always have.
Love you so much,
